Congratulations to Design Thinking for Teens
A belated congratulations to Design Thinking for Teens for receiving the a Google Education Grant! DT4Treceived a Google Education grant to fund high school teachers to attend professional development classes that will help them bring back design thinking to their classrooms.
DT4T partners with teens, teachers and local nonprofits to bring a free design thinking program into schools and was started by Oliver Greenwald in partnership with Design for America.
Panel on the future of technology and innovation work
At the annual conference on Computer Supported Cooperative Work, I was honored to lead a panel on I what I call collective innovation – the process by which technology helps to leverage the capital in distributed networks at a speed and with broader participation unimaginable just a decade ago. Dr. Laura Dabbish (Carnegie Mellon), Dr. Jeff Nickerson (Stevens Institute of Technology), Charlie Hill (IBM) and Mira Dontcheva (Adobe).
Design for America celebrates 10 years!
Design for America celebrated its 10th birthday at the annual Design Summit at Northwestern University. We talked about the power of community with 300+ friends and family of Design for America. We are grateful to the generous support of McCormick School of Engineering and many others over the past decade. We are looking forward to the next decade!
Design for America wins Smithsonian’s Cooper Hewitt Institutional Excellence Award
We were honored to be receive the Smithsonian’s Cooper Hewitt Design Museum’s Institutional Excellence Award for lasting achievement in American Design in 2018. Previous winners include Apple and Nike.
